side dishes 1 side dishes 2 Bulgogi Rajungan Seafood Soup Gurita

I just went to this Korean Restaurant called Tobak that some of my sister’s friends really recommend. I was really excited because so far, I’d only got to Korean BBQ when it came to Korean food in Jakarta. In my mind, I’d already imagined that I would eat those sweet and delicious dishes like the ones that I once tried in Melbourne. And I was more even excited when I saw so many cars in the restaurant’s parking lot. Definitely a good restaurant, I thought.

However, when I opened the menu, I was so startled. Almost every single detail of the menu was in Korean! We had to ask the waitress to explain everything and although she tried so hard on explaining the dishes, I was still startled when I saw the dishes, pretty far from what I’d imagined.

Korean dishes are always accompanied by lots of side dishes and yep, we kinda forgot about this little thing. So when all the dishes were came out, I was in shock and yep, of course, no one could finish them all.

I am sure when it comes to authenticity, these are the real Korean food as I saw lots of Koreans eating there. However, the “alienated” menu might scare away other customers which is too bad.

Anyway, I recommend the bulgogi and “rajungan”. I don’t really like the seafood soup, it was just too much. Forgive me on not giving the Korean name for the dishes cos I couldn’t remember them. Those pics, I hope, could represent the dishes.
